Editorial standards
We use official primary sources, licensed feeds and sources with clear reuse permission. We do not bypass paywalls or logins, and we do not copy other publishers’ wording.
Facts — names, places, dates and figures — are checked against the source material before publication. Stories involving allegations, court cases, children, deaths or serious injury, conflicting sources or unclear permissions are held for human review.
Automation and AI help us find, summarise and write up stories. Every article lists its sources. Our generated images use a consistent photographic style and are clearly labelled “AI-generated image — not a photograph of the event”. They provide subject context, not evidence of an actual event, person, business or exact location.
Images must be reviewed for misleading details and rights concerns before publication. We do not copy other publishers’ photos or use reference images without appropriate permission. AI generation does not guarantee freedom from copyright, privacy or other legal claims; uncertain images are held for human review.
Wider Devon or national stories are only included when there is a clear, documented local connection.
